Nilambari College of Arts and Science was founded in 1964 by an educational trust formed by families of Aluva and Choondy, on 32 acres of land beside the Aluva–Perumbavoor road. It began with pre-degree classes and two degree programmes; today it has ten departments, 2,600 students and 140 teachers.

The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and reaccredited by NAAC with an A+ grade in 2026.

Our approach

  • Small classes in most programmes, with a tutor for every group of twenty students.
  • Field work, internships and community projects in every department.
  • Fee concessions and scholarships so that no admitted student leaves for want of money.

Governance

The college is managed by the Nilambari Educational Trust. The principal is assisted by an academic council of heads of departments and an elected college union.
